The Victoria and Alfred Hotel offers charming colonial ambience in a central, prestigious location on the pier-head of the world’s most famous working harbour – the famed V&A Waterfront. This exceptionally elegant hotel occupies a converted historic warehouse and boasts 94 exquisitely designed contemporary rooms.

Sanbona Gondwana Family Lodge, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve (or similar)

Gondwana Family Lodge at Sanbona Wildlife Reserve overlooks the Bellair Dam and resembles a typical thatched Karoo homestead, offering 12 generously proportioned luxury suites, each with endless views over the plains, Anysberg Mountain and beyond.

Pre-Tour Information

Transport

You will be picked up at Cape Town International Airport for transfers between Cape Town Airport and your hotel (or vice versa), 2×4 vehicles may be utilized. All luggage, besides hand luggage and photo equipment, is carried on the vehicle or trailer roof racks to ensure maximum comfort in the vehicle. Some game drives may be conducted in open-sided safari vehicles.

Visas

The onus is on the client to organize all visas required to visit the countries stated on the itinerary.

Travel Insurance

Please note that travel and cancellation insurance is mandatory for every guest travelling with JENMAN African Safaris. All insurance is solely the responsibility of our guests. Please ensure you arrange your own insurance with protection for the full duration of your journey to cover personal injury, damage and loss of personal items including but not limited to camera equipment and other electronic items, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and loss of luggage, etc. Please speak to your travel agent if you require assistance.

Tucked between mountains, forest and sea, Grootbos Nature Reserve is an exclusive area that boasts some of South Africa’s richest biodiversity and most dramatic landscapes. And with such a diverse area, Grootbos has a variety of activities and experiences on offer – encounter magnificent Southern Right Whales either from the coast or the ocean itself, stand at Africa’s southernmost tip, or even take a unique tour exploring the secret life of a beehive and taste delicious honey-inspired treats.

Experience a unique and private guided adventure, ascending the mountain with a cable car ride, as you explore Table Mountain. Discover the wonders of the Company Gardens, delve into the treasures of the Iziko South African Museum, and step back in time at the historic Castle of Goodhope.
Following a delectable breakfast, your journey will commence with a comprehensive exclusive private guided tour of the Cape Peninsula, encompassing iconic sites like the Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Point, the charming Boulders Beach Penguin Colony, and the lush Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Anticipate a truly special picnic experience like no other – either at Cape Point or in close proximity to the penguins, complete with Shwe Shwe blankets and umbrellas for your comfort.
A transfer will be arranged to take you to the Gondwana Family Lodge, nestled within the scenic Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. Upon arrival, make yourself comfortable in your accommodations and treat yourself to a delicious lunch. During your stay, you’ll have the chance to engage in two daily nature drives and join guided wilderness walks, allowing you to immerse yourself in the incredible natural surroundings.
