The Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is perched on edge of the Ngorongoro Crater’s eastern rim – a collapsed volcano that is often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world. The lodge has magnificent views over the crater floor, which is home to vast herds of buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, the rare and endangered black rhino, elephant, cheetah, leopard, lion and herds of gazelle. The Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge offers comfortable accommodations with convenient access to the Crater’s wildlife below. It is also the only lodge on the eastern crater rim which has views of the sunset!
Accommodation at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is made up of 90 double rooms with two queens sized beds, and 6 single rooms with one queen sized bed. The double rooms are equipped with central heating for the cooler evenings and a solarium (glass enclosed verandah) with rocking chairs from where guests can enjoy stunning views of the crater below, whereas the single rooms are set within the lodge grounds and so do not have a special view. There are no mosquito nets in the rooms at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge as the cool temperatures and altitude mean that there is not a problem with mosquitoes in the area.
