On Saturday, November 2nd in Cape Town, the staff of Jenman Safaris took a hike up Lion’s Head. It was a picture-perfect day in the Mother City, and the hike felt like a great way to get a head-start to summer. The sun was shining, and the air was hot. We were grateful for the cool breeze that blew nearer to the peak of this beautiful mountain. Climbing the chains and ladders was no easy feat for those of us who haven’t hiked in a long while….but for those in the group who are seasoned hikers, the trek seemed more like a hop-skip-and-jump to the top! Once there, we all relaxed and rewarded ourselves with a rest and a snack, and took in the views of Cape Town from every direction. Many tourists had made the hike up Lion’s Head, and it was great to see quite a few locals up there as well.
After the hike, we visited Signal Hill for a well-deserved ice cream, and noticed the tourists are out in droves. Many were enjoying the views or waiting their turn to experience parachuting in tandem down to Sea Point, a flight through the air that takes 7 or 8 minutes. It is awesome to watch people take off from Signal Hill and float their way down towards the sparkling sea. Altogether, it was a great morning in Cape Town! Well-done Jenman hikers!
