Nosy Sakatia

Situated off the western coast of Nosy Be island, Nosy Sakatia is a tiny little picturesque island in Madagascar. This slice of paradise features pristine white-sand beaches lapped by impossibly blue waters. The island is also home to lush forests, an array of endemic wildlife and numerous viewpoints which offer stunning views over the pristine coastline scattered with small local villages. Visitors can look forward to snorkelling in the calm crystal-clear waters, scuba dive through the colourful coral reefs, and enjoy the peaceful laidback charm of this tropical hideaway. Other popular activities include: sailing, fishing, boating and orchid spotting.

Antananarivo

Antananarivo, affectionately called “Tana,” is Madagascar’s buzzing capital. It is the primary arrival and departure hub for most visitors to the island. The city offers excellent opportunities to delve into Madagascar’s history, with attractions like the Queen’s Palace and the Royal Hills of Ambohimanga, which can be explored on a cycling tour. 

Andasibe

Located in eastern Madagascar in the Moramanga District, the small village of Andasibe is surrounded by a belt of protected rainforest and several parks boasting incredible natural scenery and an array of exotic Madagascan wildlife. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the spectacularly scenic surrounds. Visitors can look forward to discovering the natural wonders of the nearby Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, Analamazaotra Reserve and Perinet Special Reserve. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear the unique song of the large indri lemur, explore a network of incredible trails that wind past glistening lakes and magnificent waterfalls and discover the rich biodiversity in the local flora and fauna.

Pre-Tour Information

Visas

A visa is required to enter the territory of Madagascar and can easily be obtained upon arrival at the airport of Antananarivo with a validity of up to 60 days. Tourists staying in the country for less than a month can purchase a visa (approx. €35), which can be paid with Mastercard or Visa. No photographs are required, however please ensure that passports are valid for at least 6 months after the return date. Kindly note that for the visa upon arrival, a valid return ticket is required. Alternatively, you can obtain a visa for a duration of less than 15 days at a cost of only €30. The E-visa website, https://evisamada-mg.com/en/home, is fully operational, allowing individuals to apply for the E-visa and make payment using a credit card. Once the application is approved, a PDF file will be issued, which can be presented upon arrival in exchange for a visa stamp in the passport.

Travel Insurance

Please note that travel and cancellation insurance is mandatory for every guest travelling with JENMAN African Safaris. All insurance is solely the responsibility of our guests. Please ensure you arrange your own insurance with protection for the full duration of your journey to cover personal injury, damage and loss of personal items including but not limited to camera equipment and other electronic items, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and loss of luggage, etc. Please speak to your travel agent if you require assistance.

Upon arrival at Nosy Be’s Fascene Airport, you’ll be transferred to Chanty Beach and take a short boat ride to Nosy Sakatia. Your hosts at Sakatia Beachfront Villas will welcome you and help you settle in. Spend your first day relaxing and settling into island life. Over the following four days, enjoy 8 guided dives (2 dives per day) with the Sakatia Lodge Dive Centre, exploring Madagascar’s vibrant underwater world. On your final day, enjoy a “dry day” excursion to Nosy Komba to see lemurs and browse local crafts, followed by a visit to the scenic island of Nosy Tanikely.
After enjoying a lovely breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport to catch a flight to Ivato Airport in Antananarivo. From there, you’ll be met on arrival, and continue to the Palissandre Hotel & Spa for your overnight stay.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you’ll set off to the verdant eastern coast, where you will stay at Vakona Forest Lodge, with a stop at The Peyrieras Reptile Reserve in Marozevo on the way. Here, you’ll have the chance to observe a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and unique insects, native to Madagascar. Once you’ve checked in enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. In the evening, embark on a guided walk in the Parc VOIMMA, where you’ll learn about the park’s flora and fauna, with the opportunity to spot nocturnal species in their natural
Today, you’ll embark on an exciting journey to explore the lush Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Renowned for its rich biodiversity and dense rainforest, this park is particularly renowned for sightings of the Indri Indri, the largest lemur species. Afterwards, you’ll head to Lemur Island in the Vakona Private Reserve, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to observe several species of lemurs up close in a natural setting.
Today you will be transferred to Palissandre Hotel & Spa for your last evening, where you can relax and explore at your own leisure.
As your holiday comes to an end, you will be transferred to Ivato Airport to catch your departure flight. We hope to welcome you again on one of our other African adventures!
