Sit outside your tent, listening to playful vervet monkeys scampering in the winter thorn trees overhead. Before you, an elephant wades across the languid river, dwarfed by the mountainous escarpment beyond. The resident hippos bellow their displeasure at this intrusion, breaking the tranquillity.
