One of Sandra’s most memorable safari experiences was meeting a herd of elephants at nighttime with the late, great Allan Elliot. Known as the queen’s host in Zimbabwe 50 years earlier, Allan had forged a long-standing relationship with the president’s herd along Hwange. When the elephants heard his voice, they swarmed the vehicle, gently reaching their tusks inside as though greeting an old friend. This magical moment is one that she will never forget, and it reflects the profound connections that travel and safari experiences can inspire.
