Originally from Zimbabwe, Tamlyn grew up surrounded by the rhythms of the bush and a childhood filled with adventure. Although she later moved to the city for school, studied Marketing in Cape Town, and spent time living in the UK, she soon realised her heart belonged back in the African bush.
One of Tamlyn’s most memorable travel experiences was chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park, where the fast-paced energy of the forest and the fascinating family dynamics of wild chimpanzees left a lasting impression. Outside of work, she enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle with her husband, including mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, golfing, and motorbiking. She is also well known for her wonderfully terrible jokes.
Tamlyn’s early years were shaped by a true bush upbringing, from navigating the outdoors at a young age to spending much of her childhood immersed in nature and wildlife. After returning to Southern Africa, she worked as a horse trails guide, where she discovered her true passion for tourism.
More than 20 years later, she has built extensive hands-on experience across multiple areas of the industry, including guiding, lodge operations, reservations, administration, management, marketing, and sales. Her broad industry knowledge, combined with personal travel experience through Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda, allows her to offer well-rounded insight and practical expertise when helping travellers plan African journeys.
