When it comes to our day and age, we’re often forced to choose between two things, usually at an expense of our own. Quality time with family becomes a rare luxury as a result of the highly pressurised corporate world, and we’re made to feel guilty that we aren’t chained to our desks whenever we take a much-needed break. Even when we do decide to take a vacation, we find ourselves limited by the pressures of time and travel. Luckily, with the Safari and Sands Package from Jenman African Safaris, you and your family can enjoy the best of both worlds, packed perfectly into a 7-day break away from the stress and strain of modern-day living.
The Bush
Those who’ve set foot in the Elephant’s Eye, Hwange Lodge, will agree that it’s the very best that Zimbabwe has to offer. Marrying an intimate wildlife setting, with such luxuries as a spa that offers stress-relieving treatments for you to enjoy, your worries will melt away from the moment you arrive. Each day is filled with the promise of incredible wildlife viewings, as the lodge overlooks a natural waterhole that is frequented by elephants and other wildlife. Nights of rest are spent in the tented en-suite chalets that are both spacious and private, as they radiate comfort and African authenticity
With three full days at the Elephant’s Eye, Lodge you and your family will be able to make the most of the Hwange National Park, set just 13 kilometres away. As the largest Park in the country at approximately 14 650 square kilometres, it boasts an incredible biodiversity of both fauna and flora, that plays home to over 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 species of bird. During your three-days at Elephant’s Eye, you’ll be able to indulge in such activities as game drives during the day and night, guided walks, sundowners at a waterhole and visits to the Painted Dog Centre.
The Beach
Once you’ve had your African bush adventure, you and your family will be able to fly south to the Maputoland coast in KwaZulu-Natal, where stretches of pristine beach await you. A similarly luxury lodge, you’ll be able to enjoy all that the beach and ocean have to offer while you soak in the magic of your surroundings, which include dense coastal forests, grasslands bush, sparkling lakes and unspoilt beaches. With your room set just metres from the beach, you’ll be able to fall asleep each night with the ebb and flow of the ocean as a tranquil lullaby.
The crystal clear and warm ocean waters on Maputoland offer some of the country’s best snorkelling and scuba-diving sites. At certain times of the year, you can enjoy such experiences as seeing the turtles laying their eggs or snorkelling with dolphins and other sea animals who frequent this stretch of coast. A short 25 kilometre drive will deliver you and your family to Lake Sibaya, which forms part of the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the Lake, you will be able to enjoy such activities as sundowners, cultural tours, forest walks and kayaking.
Life shouldn’t be about missing out on one thing, so you can have another. That’s why we put together the Safari and Sands Package, and other tours. Not only does it allow you to embark upon a great African wildlife adventure, but it also gives you the chance to get your full of the sun, sand and sea that can be found along the Maputoland coastline.
This means you can choose to have it all, to see it all, and to do it all, in a week-long holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life.
