Newborn White Rhino Brings Hope

White rhino are a globally endangered species, so it is welcome news that a baby White rhino was born on March 25, giving new hope to the species.

The rhino was born at Inverdoorn Game Reserve, a 10 000-hectare reserve in the Klein Karoo region of the Western Cape, which is home to Africa’s famous Big Five, and has a successful cheetah conservation centre.

Posted on the reserve’s Facebook page, the team said: “We will have to wait a few weeks before knowing if this cute little calf is a male or female. But our Rhinoprotect team and the mother rhino will dedicate their efforts to protect this baby and give it the best chances to start in life.”
