Natural Reserve of Andasibe
Spanning over 155 square kilometers, this protected area encompasses primary and secondary forests, home to an array of endemic flora and fauna, including the iconic Indri lemurs, the largest living lemurs in Madagascar. Visitors to the reserve can go on guided walks along well-maintained trails, seeking out rare orchids while walking under the towering canopy trees. In addition to the Indri lemurs, the reserve is also home to other lemur species, such as the diademed sifaka and the black-and-white ruffed lemur, as well as a myriad of bird species, reptiles, and amphibians.
Akanin’ny Nofy
Akanin’ny Nofy, is situated along the Pangalanes Canal in eastern Madagascar, and is a haven for nature lovers. The Palmarium Reserve is a forest that contains rare wildlife, offering visitors an opportunity to encounter lemurs, chameleons, and exotic birds in their natural habitat. Located just off the Southern Part of Île Sante Marie, separated only by a narrow but deep channel. No cars have reached this island yet, and the only way to cross is by pirogue, a dugout canoe.
