I’m from Germany and studying International Tourism Management…. this internship is therefore a great opportunity for me to learn more about this significant and interesting industry. I love travelling and since Africa has so much to offer I’m really looking forward to exploring as many places as possible and experiencing the fascinating cultures and sceneries found here.
But before going to all those places, I will be quite busy exploring Cape Town, my home for the next eight months. I fell in love with this city right from the beginning. In my second week I saw a poster with the following on it: “This City Lights Up My Life” and so far I only can agree with this statement. Cape Town offers beautiful scenery, friendly people, exciting activities and a great variety of leisure settings.
Good opportunities to socialise and meet up with friends are the weekly markets. So far I’ve visited the “City Bowl Market” on Thursday evenings, “The Old Biscuit Mill” on Saturday mornings and the “Bay Harbour Market” in Hout Bay on the weekends. All of them are very unique and different than any of the other markets I’ve experienced before. They simply are a perfect combination of live music, food, drinks, clothing and much more.
The people working there are so passionate about their jobs and put a lot of effort into delivering a more than satisfying product to their customers. My favourite market so far is “The Old Biscuit Mill”, located in the heart of Woodstock. It’s the right place to have a good start for the weekend – meet people, have lunch together, sit down and relax, listen to good music and look at the interesting international stands around you.
Apart from the markets you can do so many exciting things in Cape Town. So why don’t you have a look at our website to see how Jenman Safaris can help you to enjoy your stay here to the fullest?
