According to local legend, the broad mountain beside them represents a chief named Maripi Mashile, while the three rounded peaks are his wives, Magabolle, Mogoladikwe, and Maseroto.
A short walk from the parking area leads to several lookout points along the escarpment edge. From here, you’ll see the canyon walls drop to the Lowveld below, with the Blyde River winding through forests and cliffs.
